Do you have your boarding pass to Mars yet?

NASA's offering boarding passes to Mars. Are you ready to sign up?
July, 2020 marks the launch of the next Mars Rover mission.

This mission will address high-priority science goals for Mars exploration, and will hopefully answer key questions about the potential for life on Mars.

The mission will both seek signs of habitable conditions on Mars in the ancient past, as well as search for signs of past microbial life.

More than 5 million people have submitted their names to be included in the next Rover mission. If you're interested in adding yours to the list, go to NASA's landing site to submit your information for review.

You'll get the opportunity to download your very own boarding pass, as well as begin to rack up some serious Frequent Flyer points.

You can also learn more about the goals of the mission, and read the mission overview in some of the links at the top of NASA's page.

Kudos to the space agency's marketing team for a truly engaging way to spread the word about their Mars space exploration plans.

Interested in exploring other stars?

The Enfield Genesis series visits the binary star systems of Alpha Centauri and Sirius, as well as Tau Ceti, Epsilon Eridani, and the red dwarf of Proxima.

Each of these star systems has been the subject of decades-long study, and there’s a wealth of scientific observation available on them. That data has been woven into each book, as an integral part of the story arc.

You see it in Proxima’s heliospheric current sheet, sweeping through the system like the twirling of a ballerina’s skirts, and in the broad expanse of Tau Ceti’s fifty-plus AU dust belt.

Sirius, the Dog Star we see in our night skies is significantly bigger, badder, and more active than our own Sol. That fact is fundamental to this story, and it allowed me to weave radiation physics into the tale in a meaningful way.

Sirius: On Sale!

How does one sneak into a foreign nation and rescue the oppressed?
Very carefully.

Those who colonized the binary star system of Sirius pulled a bait-and-switch on their colonists.
The Hegemony offered transportation, food, and shelter for those who could not afford it. In exchange, the new colonists agreed to work off the expense of their passage.

But the Hegemony has no intention of setting them free.

Hidden in the fine print

Generations later, the Hegemony is still selling indentured servitude as a convenient fiction for slavery — and they have no intention of ever letting the Noctus go free. Not only that, but those in power are taking it to an entirely different level.

It's time for this to end

That's where Task Force Phantom Blade comes in. Jason and the crew of the Avon Vale partner with an underground railroad to rescue the oppressed, in Sirius, the fifth and final book in this story arc, available now on Amazon Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.

Two Jethros, A Jim Brown, and an Ella Fitzgerald

What the what?!?

If you're a fan of the Big Heist, you might recognize the reference.
If you're not, no worries; we've got your decoder ring right here.

The subject line's from the movie, Ocean's Eleven.

In one of the key scenes of the movie, George Clooney tries to sell Brad Pitt on a casino heist.
When he asks Brad what he thinks it'll take to pull a job like that, Brad's famous rejoinder is:
"off the top of my head, I'd say you're looking at a Boesky, a Jim Brown, a Miss Daisy, two Jethros and a Leon Spinks, not to mention the biggest Ella Fitzgerald ever."
Okay, but what does this have to do with Aeon 14 and the next Enfield Genesis book?

Turns out that Shannon's a big fan of old-Earth 2D vids, especially ones like Ocean's Eleven, Inside Man, A Fish Called Wanda, and The Usual Suspects.

Good thing, too. Because all of her expertise with the con game will serve her well as she embarks on her first field mission for team Phantom Blade.

That's right; Sirius, the fifth and final book in this story arc, is a heist — and it's one for the books (well, okay, book....)

What's it about?

Jason and Terrance have one more mission to complete before their return to Alpha Centauri.

Reports from Sirius speak of atrocities by the Sirian Hegemony, committed against AI and human alike. Don’t miss the fifth and final installment in the Enfield Genesis series, where the crew of the Avon Vale fly once more into the breach to free the oppressed.

Jason just wanted a little R&R. Was that too much to ask?

Until the people of Barat decide to hold one of the crew hostage in exchange for Enfield tech.

The inhabitants of Godel agree to help Jason get her back, but at a steep cost. Now Jason and the Phantom Blade team must rescue their teammate and stop a deadly attack, before an entire planet falls….

AVAILABLE NOW:
Tau Ceti: The Phage — the third book in the Enfield Genesis series.

The greatest power is bound up in the smallest things.

A rushed job, and an unfortunate series of accidents unleash the power of nanotech in the Tau Ceti system, requiring the utter destruction of a shipyard to halt the spread of a nanophage.

The impending danger demands a contingency: two AIs stolen from Alpha Centauri; traveling between the stars in a courier drone.

Jason, Terrance and Team Phantom Blade are hunting those AIs, taking their own long journey across the black to salvage their people's honor, and save those who had been enslaved.

But Tau Ceti is not what it once was, and when they arrive, the travelers from Alpha Centauri will have to fight to save more than just two lost AIs.
